KPDC 10th Anniversary Reflections
KPDC’s 10th Anniversary Dog Fest was a celebration of the club’s past, present and future.
For longtime visitors to the park, it was an occasion not only to celebrate the club’s history, it was also a time of remembrance, happy memories and nostalgic thoughts about the dog park – an opportunity to reminisce about the dog park friendships we’ve made over the years and an occasion to honour the memory of many wonderful dogs who no longer join us in the off-leash area.

The 10th anniversary was also a moment to celebrate the present, recognize KPDC’s accomplishments and an occasion to optimistically dream about the future – beginning, but not ending with, new park benches and picnic tables for the off-leash area.

It was a day of fun for dogs and all the people who love them and KPDC’s official club photographer Vince Pahkala’s was on hand to capture those memorable images. Check out his photos on KPDC’s Facebook page.

Thanks to KPDC corporate sponsors – Sprockett’s Doggy Day Camp and Alpine Animal Hospital for coming out to support the event, to JD Hoggs for supplying custom smoked hot dogs and sausage, Dogfather Pet Services for providing free day care for volunteers’ dogs, and Shippam and Associates for supplying volunteer tees.
Thanks to event sponsors Boston Pizza – Regent and Lagemodiere who, as official supplier of ice, uphold KPDC’s reputation for serving the coldest drinks in town! – and to Safeway – Henderson and Chief Peguis, our official supplier of sausage and burger buns – freshly baked the morning of the event!
Thanks to Winnipeg Lost Dog Alert and KPDC’s partnering shelters and rescues and adorable adoptables like Wonka, Maggie and Timmy. We hope you were able to find permanent homes where they will be loved and cared for.

And thanks to KPDC’s partner, Recycle Everywhere for bins that enabled the club to divert another 25 pounds of beverage containers from Winnipeg landfills. That’s a total of 50 pounds of recyclables that were reclaimed and re-purposed from club events in the past two weeks!
