Many of us know dogs who have become seriously ill after swimming in Kilcona Park’s retention ponds or drinking pond water. Veterinarians report that these are nasty diseases – gastrointestinal, urinary tract, skin and eye infections that are difficult and expensive to treat. They are linked to alarming levels of E. coli and other bacteria in the ponds.

Most of us also know that reducing the health risk to our pets is Kilcona Park Dog Club’s highest priority. KPDC is raising funds to bring clean, fresh water into the off-leash area, and install a three-tiered drinking fountain for people and dogs that visit the park. To protect as many dogs as quickly as possible, the club hopes to run the water line and install the fountain water next summer (2018). You can help make that happen.

So far, KPDC has raised approximately $30,000 for the project. Most of the money has come from KPDC  members and other people who use Kilcona Dog Park,  and KPDC’s generous corporate sponsor, Birchwood Ford.

KPDC still has a way to go to meet our goal of $50,000 and we are asking for your help. Your gift will ensure Kilcona’s dogs soon have access to clean, fresh drinking water. Even a small donation makes a difference.
