Contact information for Fido Casting Call problems

Still Waiting for  Photos!

 

 

Kilcona Park Dog Club has received a number of  complaints from dog owners who attended the Fido Casting Call at Kilcona Park last Sunday.

The complaint:

The contest  is biased in favour of dogs from Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver. A Manitoba dog has no chance of winning the contest.

The issue:

Event organizers still have not emailed Manitoba dog owners a photo of their dog, although dog owners who attended photo shoots in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver on August 11th and 12th have received theirs. People who attended photo shoots in those three cities and wished to enter the contest have had an unfair two week head-start advantage in accumulating votes for their dog.

KPDC’s President contacted the Toronto-based event organizer, Mosaic Sales Solutions on Wednesday and requested an explanation for the delay in distributing photos. KPDC also requested that the deadline for voting for Manitoba dogs be extended to even the playing field, in the interest of fairness.

Here is Mosaic’s response.

“Chances are [the photos] are queued in the system, and once the devices are back in Toronto and back online, they will be sent to consumers…

 I would estimate that by Friday or Monday we will be able to have them back online and sent out to consumers (they are enroute back to Toronto now).

 I do understand the frustration that consumers are feeling about the voting timelines, but my client has assured me that everyone still has LOADS of time for voting and unfortunately we were not the agency who built the rules or voting strategies for this contest, so as much as I wish we could extend it, this one does not fall into our camp. We have flagged it with the agency in charge, but the decision to keep the contest end date static remains.

 In terms of the contest entry, it states in many areas that consumers are welcome to uploading their own photo to the contest from home to begin receiving votes now. We had actually included that in our messaging “upload the photo and enter the contest now, and then attend our event for a fun afternoon with fellow dog owners” during our pre-promotion.”

 

KPDC advises club members and other Manitoba dog owners who are concerned that the integrity of the contest has been compromised to direct their complaints to Mosaic Sales Solutions at: fidocastingcall@mosaic.com

KPDC launches its new “Happy Dog” logo

Meet the KPDC “Happy Dog”

KPDC launched its new “Happy Dog” logo at the Fido Casting Call with club banners, tees and grill master aprons.

 

The new logo wear easily identified volunteers and made them the “go to” folks for information and services.

The Happy Dog logo, designed by KPDC’s Marketing Committee, is a recognition tool for the public and is part of KPDC’s branding, designed to promote the club.

To honour the diversity of breeds that visit Kilcona Dog Park, Happy Dog is simply dog-shaped. His smile and cheerful colour are designed to convey the idea of happiness – that Kilcona Park is a pleasant place for dogs to romp, run and play.

The minimalist logo can be used alone or in combination with the club name, seen here in Good Dog Cool style font.

Happy Dog’s simplicity allows him to be produced on club logo wear at a reasonable price. The logo is recognizable even when shrunk down to a very small size, for example, club pins.

KPDC Salutes its Volunteers!

Serving up giant, sizzling custom-smoked sausages and dogs from Gold Sponsor JD Hoggs, KPDC held its second barbecue, 50/50 draw and membership drive of the year.
Held in conjunction with the widely publicized Fido Casting Call, the event was designed to increase the club’s brand awareness, attract new members and raise more money for off-leash area improvements.

With strong support from our teams of volunteers sporting the club’s new logo wear, the largest event KPDC has ever hosted went off without a hitch!

A Celebrity in our Midst?

Who doesn’t want to be a star – being famous, living the good life and raising money for a great cause while you’re at it?

I’m too adorable!

Winnipeg dog owners seem serious about the dream. Hundreds of them – along with the cutest, the cuddliest, the smartest, most talented, most dignified and most adorable dogs – turned out for Sunday’s Casting Call.

Kilcona Park’s dogs were well-represented.  One of our own could be the next star in a national Fido commercial!!

The dog with the most votes wins, so get busy and cast your votes at fidocastingcall.ca. – One vote per person per dog per day until Sept. 10.

The “studio” opened 9am and by 9:30 the line-up of people and dogs stretched across the lawns as far as the parking lot.

The nation-wide Casting Call is expected to help raise $200,000 for Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.
