Well Done! – A Thank You Letter to Poo Crew Volunteers
On Saturday hundreds of volunteers, including many new club members, armed themselves with buckets, bags, rakes, shovels and rubber gloves, and participated in the Annual Spring Clean-Up at Kilcona. Volunteers picked up several Gator-loads of dog poop, coffee cups, plastic bags, cigarette butts and other litter that had accumulated over the winter.
KPDC’s Board of Directors would like to thank each of you for donating your time and energy to make our park cleaner, safer and more attractive for everyone.
Special thanks to Park Services employer, Ron Gilkes for picking up the full garbage bags and hauling them to the waste depot. Ron, you made the job a lot easier for everyone and enabled the volunteers to pick up a lot more garbage than in previous years.
KPDC would also like to thank Winnipeg Parks Services East Area Superintendent, Jonina Ewart and Kilcona Park Foreman, Mark Storimans for the strong support they provided. Their assistance helped make to KPDC’s 10th Annual Spring Clean-Up an unqualified success!
Thanks to the City for supplying heavy duty garbage bags for the Spring Clean-Up.
